Getting Ready for a Journey … through March and through Lent

This week we’ll turn the calendar to March and we’ll also begin our journey through Lent.  We hope you’ll join us for worship, bible study, service projects and special activities to make the time meaningful.  It’s a great time to take a break from mid-term exams and papers and focus on your faith and your spiritual connections.  Check it out and get involved today!

Tools for the Journey:  Choices

Luke 10:25-42 The Good Samaritan, Mary and Martha

Lent (and all of life) is all about choices and sometimes those choices are difficult. We'll reflect on the choices made by each person who passed by the broken and beaten man and the final decision made by the Good Samaritan AND the choices Mary and Martha made about how they experienced Jesus in their midst.


Followed by Sunday Supper at 6:00 p.m. Casserole Night:  Tator Tot Casserole, Tuna-Noodle Casserole, Squash Casserole, Potato Cups, Salad and Dessert

Service Sunday: Love Kits for IPH

Sunday, March 5 ~ 6:30 p.m.

Join us as we pack "love kits" for Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, What's a love kit? a bag with personal care items packed with love for use by a resident at the shelter. We'll provide the stuff... you provide the service!

Food for your Body and Food for Your Soul! 
Join us for a home cooked meal and an opportunity to connect with God and with each other. 
Hosting this Week: Hudson River Baptist Association
Dinner is served from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. so feel free to come when you class lets out; even if it’s a bit late, we have plenty of food.  After dinner we’ll join together for an interactive worship experience.


Java and Justice: “What Does Free Tuition Mean for YOU?”

Wednesday, Marcy 8 ~ 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.

Join us as we continue our series of Java and Justice with a conversation about Governor Cuomo’s Excelsior Program that Offers Free Tuition for College Students?  Is it real? What Does it Mean for YOU?  What are the pros and cons?

Guest Speaker: Vincent Commisso, Adjunct Professor, Political Science, UAlbany.

We welcome Rev. Emily McNeill from the Labor-Religion Coalition and organizer of the Capital Moral Monday Movement and Rev. Sandy Damhof, Protestant Campus Minster

And of course, there is free coffee, tea, beverages and great desserts!

Service Project: South End Children’s Café Dinner

Thursday, March 9 ~ 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Carpool from Interfaith Center

Help us help others as we prepare a meal for the children at South End Children’s Cafe. We'll carpool from the Interfaith Center, arrive and cook and serve the meal and then clean up. We'll be back on campus by 6;30 p.m.
